Neurobehavioral and Psychosocial Factors

About the Research Positive Impact on our Earth

The Neurobehavioral and Psychosocial Factors Team is investigating methods and tools that can be used to enable crews to diagnose and cope with depression, stress, isolation, and group incompatibility and lack of cohesion.

The team is addressing:

  • Software-based solutions to diagnose and manage interpersonal conflicts, anxiety and depression using problem-solving approaches
  • Technologies to detect changes in mood, mental functions and behavioral status
  • A rapid and portable computer-based test that measures psychomotor vigilance and response speed, and is sensitive to the effects of sleep deficits on mental performance
