About the Research Positive Impact on our Earth
 
The Sensorimotor Adaptation Team focuses on the effects and mitigation of sensory disturbances related to vehicle control and task performance.

The team is addressing:

  • Training procedures and specialized software for rapid adaptation to weightlessness and sensory changes
  • The impact of individual spatial skills and fatigue on operator performance during space teleoperations
  • Advanced displays and controls to support both manual and automated vehicle control
  • The effect of strong vibrations and vehicle motion on the ability to correctly read and interpret displays and operate manual controls
